A Community for the Good News of Jesus in Santa Cruz
Meets Quarterly on the 3rd Sunday of the Month in the Stevenson Academic Building Room #150
Welcome
Come and See...
Ekklesia (pronounced ek–klay–SEE'–ah) is a Greek word meaning "a gathering or assembly called out for a specific purpose." The purpose of our gathering is to share the good news of Jesus through hospitality, teaching, and personal exploration. Our meetings will consist of a free meal, live music, a message directly from Jesus' words in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and a panel discussion/Q&A session.
We invite you to join us at 6 PM, every third Sunday of the month. Come hungry. Come with questions. Come and discover the Good News of Christ!
For Students
Are you...
Curious?
We are intentionally casting a broader net of inclusion and diversity across all expressions of faith, and even those who hold to ‘no faith’ in Santa Cruz. This is a safe space where you can get your questions answered in an arena of love and respect. If you are curious about what the original source material of scripture says, or what being a Jesus follower is all about, join us and find out!
A Believer?
If you are already a follower of Christ, welcome. We want to be a place where you can connect with other believers who will help you grow closer in your relationship with Jesus. We want to equip you with sound biblical teaching and practical advice for living out your faith in your daily life. If you find it difficult to leave campus to attend church, we hope to bring church to you instead!
A Club Leader?
If you are involved with another Christian club or church, we'd love to work with you. Whatever your denomination, if you hold fast to the truth of scripture, we want to collaborate with you to share God's love with others. We are looking to involve speakers, worship teams, and people to sit on our Q&A panels. We truly believe we're better, together!
Mission
Our Values
Community
We welcome students from different backgrounds and faith traditions. We hope to foster collaboration between different faith organizations on the UCSC campus. We hope to develop a vibrant community that can begin to meet both spiritual and practical needs of those living in Santa Cruz County.
Authenticity
We will seek straight answers to our raw and honest questions directly from the original source material of scripture. The teachings won’t be dry theology. They will come from a real person, with a real-life personal testimony of being eternally impacted by the words of Jesus.
Personal Growth
The university experience is where you should be able to explore propositional truth and open yourself up to learning more and experiencing more. In examining the life and words of Jesus, we want to help you grow in love and understanding, and live a life filled with purpose, meaning, and value.
